Cross Country Making Strides At UCA

Little Rock, AR (September 11, 2018) -- Men's and Women's Cross country participated in the University of Central Arkansas Cross Country meet this past Saturday.

The Lady Panthers finished in 12th place and the Men finished 8th. Santerris Booker led the men finishing 38th in a field of 100. Noel Lyons finished 55th. The Lady Panthers were led by transfer, Brianna Alexander (SO/Houston, TX). Alexander ran a time of 24:45.6 cutting three minutes off her time from week one. Zora Talbert (JR/Marion, AR) also made improvement from week one to week two.

Coach Chris McConnell stated, "I am very proud of how the team is progressing. Each week is preparation for the next week." McConnell went on to say, "Saturday will be our Men's team's first real test because we haven't run an 8K this season. I am excited about the Women's progress. Both teams are really going to compete at conference."

The Men and Women's Cross Country teams will be running Saturday, September 15, 2018, in Memphis, TN at Rhodes College.
